I know, I know. There has not been an awful lot of news during the last couple of – er – weeks and some people already started complaing. But apart from a series of sick days we have been busy preparing a lot of things. We have a handful of nice news to spread and some other issues in the pipeline that should be ready for posting soon.

The last weeks we have been working hard to finish a really nice project. The PAE Halo fund ordered two limited editions with 50 bags each. The designs come from Rainy Chen and Vincent Rondia respectively. PAE really pushed our production process to the limit: prints on the outside and inside of the flap as well as on the outer body and the mobile bags with prints and in colors corresponding with the designs.

Additionally every single bag is fitted with a metal plate that has the serial number embossed. And this is the result:

These bags have been produced at the Miaolosophy workshop together with a nice linen transport pouch. It will is available from PAE Halo only and all the proceeds raised from the sale of these bags will go into the PAE Halo fund to support the work of NGOs in China. So please visit the PAE Halo website and buy a bag right away or mark your calendar for on October 13, when there will be a bag auchtion at the Opposite House in Beijing! I got a surprise last week. Kiwa managed to get a sample of matt black tarp from the producer. She arranged to have a 08/15 model produced and now look at this beauty:

What we have to do now is get a full roll of tarp and have a full range of models produced. I am sure that a lot of the 08|15 fans will like it. Since we are looking in cooperating with more shops especially in Shanghai, this will be a nice product for a first display.

08/15 bags got plastered. We teamed up with the famous Beijing T-Shirt brand of Plastered 8. Plastered is renowned for their iconic designs that are drawn from communist Chinese artwork and everyday items. For our first joint product we have chosen something very special. It is a design picked from an old Chinese duffle bag from the late 70s/early 80s and it depicts the famous Beijing Hotel on Changan Dajie.

We put this design on the 08/15 model in bright blue and – it looks fantastic! These babies will be on sale in Plastered 8 shops in Beijing and Shanghai starting next week and will also be available at BNC (Brand New China) in the Sanlitun North Village. So if you want to show your love for the Jing or need a nice present for your friends don’t hesitate and get one before the first batch is sold out!
